Nice Ambiance

+ whatever you used to give it that chant sound was well done. they fit well with the ambieace
+ the beat was slow but complex, something ambient songs benefit well from.
- The song lacked a sense of place. excelent ambient songs are made to fit a certain place, or setting. this didn't seem to have one, I didn't get any kind of feel for where your mind was at when you made it.
+ good job with the layering, they faded in and out excelently.

Like I said above, a nice ambient piece, perfect for submissions, even though it lacks setting.

Thanks for the review. I really appreciate the constructive criticism, and the compliments :D

Nice piece

+ nice instrument choice for most of the song.
- you might want to think about some of the accenting sounds (like those right in the beggining). that instrument you chose for them didn't fit to well them
+ the drum line is nice, its a good beat that you underlayed throughout most of the song, and did well in choosing to change or completely cutout at parts.
+ breaks at parts were nice, they cut out the beat and went into their own, and morphed back to the main beat well.

overall a nice addition to the AP

Pretty nice

Good song, a little slow for a trance beat, but nice.

+ opening up the song builds nicely to the beat you keep throughout most of the song.
- that beat gets a bit stale by the end.
+ you incorperated different beats at parts, and that did a good job breaking up the repeditive nature of it.
+ it was a nice sounding beat at that, so that was good too

seems alot of songs share the same problem of being repeditive, so its really somethng to work on to separtate yourself from the flock

nightvision responds:

Thanks for the response, this helps my future work immensly.

Nice stuff

I'd say its more techno then industrial, but Its really both

+ like the simple intro because of the nice instrument choice.
+ you build it into something good.
- as stated in some of the earlier reviews, its a simple beat chord that was masked up. this isn't always a bad thing though, take dimrain47 for example, all his stuff is simple, he just managed to pull off cool beat variations and incorperated different beats.
+ there were some cool breaks from the main beat.
+ there were times when you had a few cool beats layered into the song.
- If you knew the beat was as simple as it is, you should have made it shorter to lessen the effect of it being repeditive.

Overall its really great though

DavidOrr responds:

This piece has techno elements in it, but I personally feel it's more industrial. Of course, it's all one's opinion, and neither is wrong by any means.

I love your review style, it's very easy to read and pick out the faults and strengths. I'd love to see some of your music!

Beautiful beat

+ nice octave changine intro
+ slides were nice
+ highhats(I think) were nice too
+ it does another good job conveying an ambient place. I get a kind of abandoned urban railline or such feel from this. or maybe its just space.
- like I said about Ill wish, not all ambient tracks have to be slow, or simple for that matter. there are times when you need to either add speed, or content to an ambient song to improve it

Theres not much else in this song to talk about because of its simplicity

good job

PERVOK responds:

Ah, but thats my style. When I think 'ambient', I think 'downtempo'. I really don't wanna add a 180 BPM glitch in the middle of a downtempo track, that would bother me :P

Thanks for the review.

Ambient for once?

Glad to see you experimenting with different styles

+ nice ambient style
+ likes the glass, or whatever you used right off the bat, its a great instrument for ambient music.
+ sounds alot like some of the Half-life 2 ambient soundtrack pieces for a minute, those were great pieces, and good memories gets you a +
+ you had some variation of the beat throughout the entire thing, so it didn't get stale fast.
+ the tweaks around 1:50 were nice, made it seem like technology ambient, and ambient always carries a location if done right. be it abandoned place, technology, space, etc
- ambient isn't just about a slow beat

PERVOK responds:

I don't care if ambient isn't about a slow beat; but this song sure is.

Good

+ nice building opening moments
+ the synths were good
- the beat got really repeditive after a while
+ scratchs never seem to be used anymore, glad you used them
+ the underlayed beat was great approaching the halfway point
- it was good enough to come to the surface, which it didn't
+ the nice breaks from the beat for a second at different points is nice
+ that cool other beat appears here and there sometime

Drums aren't your thing

Im going to guess that accually was you trying to play drums, because I don't think that your that bad at making beats in FL6 to come up with this, no offence.

+ it shows effort
- the sound quality wasn't to good
- no clear beat
- overuse of what I think is a highhat

um...ya, drums aren't your thing

PERVOK responds:

Of course there was no clear beat... I said in my comments 'enjoy the cheap SOLO'. A drum solo is simply a show of skill, not of a steady beat :-/

Hi hat? I only used my hi hat for about 20 or 30 secodsout of the whole thing... might wanna check your hearing :P

Drums aren't my thing? I know, but they are fun.

No full review for you

its a cool start, but I'll wait until you have a full song to do an accuall review.

some quick things I noticed:
=the beat could get repeditive really quickly if you don't do anything else with it
=the slides of the saw waves were good
=the drums added something, and maybe need to be used a bit more in the final version

Very nice

+ love the synths in the beggining layered over the main beat
- got a bit repeditive after a while the same pattern was used a bit to many times in a row without anything really changing around it
+ the beat was pretty good so you could keep it throughout the entire song without it becomeing to overused
+ the break from the main beat at 1:20 is beautiful, the instrument choice really does well here, and the muffled thing helps it too.
- then you go right back into the main beat, an audibly modified main beat or a new beat entirely would have worked better. as long it was similar in some way to the main one as to keep the song continuous
+ you did mix it up after a bit.
- the ending fade took way to long, I would have prefered to listen to it at full volume for a bit more then hear a quick fade

If theres a problem, the cause is likely between the keyboard and the chair
